GIVE2THETROOPS® GOLF PROJECT

Chuck Merrill responded to a project that has its roots in Greenville, NC, "GIVE2THETROOPS"  for the purpose to support the physical, moral and spiritual health of America’s armed forces in combat zones through the letters and packages prepared and shipped by caring volunteers.

Chuck organized a group of volunteers, members of the Navy Golf Course Men’s Club other golfers who play golf at the Navy Golf Course and corporations to donate golf equipment and services to support this project.

Through Chuck’s leadership, the response was over whelming as seen by the picture with Chuck standing amongst to the pallets of boxed donations that were shipped to North Carolina.

The amount of items collected included over 450 golf clubs, eighteen full sets nearly 5000 golf balls and twenty-two golf bags.

A special thanks goes out to the Navy Golf Course Men’s Club ( NGCMC) members who donated and other volunteers, who gave their time and labor to make this project a success. Special recognitions to those who provided time and effort, Bob Todd, Ken Manes, and Don Klindt also special recognition is given to Bob Mathieu of Triple-B-Forwards, Carson, CA. who packaged and picked up the pallets for shipment.

Premier Logistic, Inc donated freight costs for shipping the donated equipment to North Carolina.
