Privacy Policy Statement

Give2TheTroops is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. We do not use “cookies” to track or monitor your visit in any way.
INFORMATION VOLUNTARILY PROVIDED BY YOU
In the course of using our web site, you may choose to provide us with information to help us serve your needs. For example, you may send us electronic mail (via e-mail or through our web forms) to request information, make a donation, sign up for a mailing list, or you may send us your address so we may send you a brochure or other material. Any personally identifiable information you send us will be used only for the purpose indicated. Requests for information will be directed to the appropriate staff to respond to the request, and may be recorded to help us update our site to better respond to similar requests, but this information will never be disclosed without your permission.
The information we collect and maintain is used solely for donation recording and includes: donor name, date of donation, donor's address, and the amount of the transaction. This information is used to process your donation, generate receipts, research and answer your inquiries, register you for a care package and/or register you for volunteer events.
Give2TheTroops does not maintain any credit card information. For online donations, all financial and contact information needed to complete an online donation is collected through our third-party vendor, PayPal, which authorizes credit card donations made to our organization. For details about Paypal’s privacy practices, please consult their web site directly.
Donors may choose to donate anonymously but if no mailing or e-mail address is provided, it will be impossible to send you a tax-deduction receipt and thank-you letter.
INFORMATION SHARING
G2TT will not share any personal information on its members or its registered troops (including the names, addresses and locations of deployed and wounded troops) outside of our organization. Access to personal information on donors, Board members, affiliates, troops and their family members and other volunteers is restricted to the Executive Committee and Branch Directors.
We will not sell, share, rent, trade, disclose or otherwise distribute your personal information or the information you provide about someone else (including name, email, address, phone number, address, affiliation or other personal identifiable information) outside of our organization without your consent, except to the extent required by law.
TROOP SIGN-UP INFORMATION
We respect and follow the Department of Defense and Operation Security’s guidelines and therefore will NOT disseminate any information on troops (including their name, unit, exact unit size and location, address, family’s names, family’s address and other sensitive information).
When a troop signs up to receive a care package through our online registration form, we ask him/her to provide some personal information in order to customize and personalize the care package. The information we receive is strictly confidentiality, safely stored in our secure databases and only disseminated to Branch Directors who will be sending the troop a care package. We ask troops to provide us with an approximate rotation date to ensure we have enough time to mail the care package (and avoid having it returned to us). We ask for deployed country names to ensure we are following our Mission and shipping to those military troops deployed to combat zones. Any troop may decline to submit personal information on our registration form, however, in doing so, we might not be able to provide a care package to him/her.
CHILDREN'S IDENTITIES
We are especially concerned about protecting the privacy of children. We encourage parents and teachers to be involved in children’s explorations - especially on the internet. We respect the need to protect the identity of children who participate in our events or who submit cards for the troops. While we encourage them to participate in our troop support activities, we ask that they not use their full names or home addresses on any correspondence to the troops. We only post children’s photos with their parents’ permission and omit posting names of minors or other personally identifiable information.
CONTESTS / SURVEYS
At times, we will have contests or surveys in which we invite visitors’ participation. Should you participate, we will ask you for specific personally identifiable information. Participation in our contests and surveys is completely voluntary, therefore, you have a choice whether or not to disclose such information. Typically, we request your name, address and zip code and will use this information to notify contest winners and mail their prizes.
LINKS TO OTHER SITES
Our web site provides links to other organization’s and businesses web sites. However, we do not control these sites and are not responsible for their availability, content, or delivery of services. External sites are not bound by our privacy policy; they may have their own policies or none at all. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each web site collecting your personal information. To confirm you are no longer on Give2TheTroops’ web site, please note the URL of the destination site.
MAILING LIST / NEWSLETTERS
We do not distribute or maintain mailing lists, newsletter lists or email distribution lists.
